Our Ecolodge is located in the region of Krambitan in the Western part of Bali, set between the
sea and ricefields, that is still relatively off the beaten tracks of mass tourism.
The region is part of the Tabanan district, one of the eight former kingdoms of Bali. A princely family,
the younger branch of the family in Tabanan, still lives in Krambitan. The prince and princess
retain an honorary role and are still highly respected by the population.
The Ecolodge is in a small hamlet outside Krambitan, shaded by coconut trees, surrounded by banana groves, beautiful rice terraces and small woodlands.
"ALAS ARUM ECOLODGE" actually means “enchanted forest”, reflecting the magical touch of the sumptuous and vibrant Balinese nature, populated by spirits and protected by the Hindu gods of Bali.
Our four traditional “GLADAK” teak wood chalets, tailor-made by talented traditional Indonesian craftsmen, stand amidst a lush tropical garden, on each side of a small path leading to the main “JOGLO” pavilion, which overlooks our swimming-pool. Perfect for couples, families, or single travelers seeking peace and privacy, using natural material (wood and stone), all chalets comprise a small veranda for chilling out, and open air bathroom: Three of them with a double King Size bed and one with twin beds. The bedding may be rearranged on request and extra beds are also made available to families.
